Sick Leave Information:

The smallest increment of sick leave that paraprofessionals are allowed to take is a 1/4 day.  This is figured out by taking the total hours you work per week divided by 5 [apparently we have some paraprofessionals in the SAU who have a special deal to work longer days, but only 4 days per week — hence the equation].  This gets you to the number of hours worked per day then divide by 4.

For the vast majority of our members that is 6.5/4= 1.625 hours for a quarter day.  Translation: 1 hour 37 minutes 30 seconds.   If you need to take more than that it goes up to the next 1/4 hour, which would make it a half day.
